The semitron static dissipative materials are designed for use where there is a problem of operational electric discharge. They are commonly useful in making sensitive electronic equipments like integrated circuits, circuit boards and hard disk drives.

1. Wafer combs

Wafer combs made of semitron nullify equipment transfer discharging problems. Earlier used materials include Nylon and Standard Acetal.

2. Handling Trays

Handling trays made from Semitron release static charges reliably. They have stable dimensions.

3. Inserts

Static inserts manufactured from Semitron plate reduces damage to sensitive parts due to static discharge. Earlier material used was ceramic.

4. IC device testing fixtures

Semitron ESd 520HR is used to make integrated circuit device testing fixtures. The mechanical strength of Semitron has resulted in longer life of the test heads and greater tested units per hour.

Semitron ESd 520HR has the distinction of being the first product to meet all physical performance requirements for test nests, contactors and sockets. It is combined with ES-d performance. It has a surface resistivity of 1010-1012 ohms/square and has enough resistance to decrease the risk of ‘cross-talk’ (leakage). Also important is the ability of Semitron ESd 520HR to maintain its surface resistivity with electrical forces more than 100 volts.
